Real food is boring. Why else would film writers constantly create new foods? Well, OK, it can also be because real food doesn't belong in the far future or a galaxy far, far away. Or maybe because the writers don't feel like creating blatant product placements for companies that already have way, way, way, way too much money. Whatever their reasoning might be, a great number of fictional foods have sprouted over the years. Some have been recreated in real life, while others - due to the presence of certain arms treaties as well as the laws of physics - are currently and indefinitely confined to the human imagination.
